Alissa Carlson personality allows her to wear more than one hat. Although she is a certified meteorologist, her desire is to give more of herself. Apart from her journalism responsibilities, Alissa is also a health coach. She loves mentoring people on health and wellness. The coach has helped many people including her husband in losing excess weight. She is an expert in health training as she is an expert at the weather. She works at KGET-TV as a chief meteorologist.

She is a farm girl from Northwest Illinois born on 19th September 1975. The 45-year-old is also a mother and a wife. She is married to Neil Schwartz, who is a bankruptcy attorney and business owner, Law Offices of Neil Schwartz. They had a colorful wedding which was featured in the Bakersfield Magazine. Their union has been blessed with a girl called, Aris Ann Schwartz.
Education and Career
Alissa is a combination of her father and mother. She grew up on her father’s farm and was always familiar with weather patterns and storms. Through this exposure, she fell in love with the weather. Alissa also followed in her mother’s footsteps, who was a journalist. With the two desires implanted in her, Alissa joined high school determined to become a journalist. Her desire became permanent when she joined Illinois State University. She sealed her fate when she joined Mississippi State University for certification in Broadcast Meteorology.
She began honing her skills while in college as she worked part-time as an anchor at WQAD. The skills she learned at Moline led her to get reporting and weather jobs in North Carolina, Florida, and Jacksonville.
She also became a recipient of several awards. First, she was approved as a meteorologist by the National Weather Association. She later won the Mark Twain Award in 2010, 4 Emmy awards as a journalist at KGET, and the Best Weathercast from the Kern Press Club.
Health, Wellness and Community Work
Apart from reporting about the weather, Alissa desires to see people growing in good health. She organizes events that bring health-conscious people together. Alissa has helped many people in losing weight by encouraging them to eat healthily and work out regularly. She also gets invitations to speak at conferences.
Alissa is also heavily involved in community service. First, she is a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church. Second, she volunteers in charity organizations that help less privileged children, homeless people, and organizations dealing with people with Alzheimer’s. Her contributions to Bakersfield earned her a selection to be on Bakersfield Magazine in 2008. The American Heart Association held a Good Red For Women Campaign and made her the Lady in Red. Alissa continues to contribute to the community by participating in workshops and emceeing events.
Salary and Height
Being a wellness expert, Alissa has managed to live an active and healthy life. Despite being in her 40s, she has managed to keep a lean body.
