She started dreaming of becoming a journalist earlier in life. This passion led her to the University of Central Missouri where she earned a degree in Broadcast Media and later went for a master’s degree at Lindenwood University to do Digital Communication and Media.
Her work experience started as an intern for WGN-TV but later got full employment as a feature reporter at KPLR where she worked for 1 year. In 2008, she joined WMBDT as an anchor and reporter for 3 years before moving to ABC 22 as a fill-in anchor and reporter for 5 years.
She moved to her current place of work in 2016 as a news reporter but has worked her way up the corporate ladder to now working as an anchor. Her job experience has been involved with alot of travelling, news coverage of all sectors, and doing interviews with influential people.

Amber Jayanth has also covered shocking news like the story of an officer in the Ohio Department of Natural Resources who pled guilty to shooting his parent. The 25-year-old man was sentenced to 7 to nine years in prison. Her work started getting recognized when she was at KPLR where she was nominated for an Emmy Award for doing a pop culture story aimed at empowering women. While at WMDT in Maryland, Amber Jayanth received two Associated Press Awards for doing a documentary for the homeless and creating a series called Delmarva’s Unsolved Crimes.
She is one of the few journalists who has dedicated their lives to serving the community with authentic news. While not of official duties, she loves visiting restaurants and going out with her girlfriends. Her attributes have also been observed by veteran journalists like Elyse Chengery and Kristi Coleman.
