Aria Janel is a multimedia Journalist working for WOIO. She is passionate, driven, and focused on appealing to her audience with authentic news. Despite her young age, Janel has exceptional skills learned from her experience working at WFIE, UNCW Teal Tv, and as an intern in various media stations.

Janel was born on 6th December 1995 in Kannapolis, North Carolina. She has a close relationship with her parents and brother. On matters regarding dating and marriage, Janel has opted to remain single owing to her young age. Her focus is mainly on working to become better in her career.
Aria Janel Education and Career
She has been passionate about journalism from a young age. This desire led her to study Broadcast Journalism at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Janel was actively involved in journalism activities and societies. Aria was part of the team that produced Taste of Talent, Episode 1- Bart Kelly.
She was also the sports reporter for the school’s television networking tasked with writing stories, conducting interviews, and pitching story ideas. She later rose to the General Assignment reporter and a General Reporter the Host of Teal Talks Money Segment.
As a student, Aria juggled many jobs to meet her personal needs. She was a part-time cashier and stylist, helping customers in the shop, styling mannequins, and restocking items. Janel also worked for 4 years as a Store Cashier for Cannon Pharmacy.
She started learning journalism when she worked as an intern at Spectrum. There she learned to report news and work with anchors in the studio. Janel also had the opportunity to intern at WWAY-TV where she learned reporting and production skills.
She got her first job at 14 WFIE as a multimedia journalist for 2 years before joining WOIO as a reporter. In her journalism journey, Jane has majored in covering stories and headlines in Cleveland.

When she is not working, Janel loves spending time with her friends, and family and walking with her dog Kaizer.
