Belen Smole is an award-winning journalist working for NBC 10 as a news anchor for Telemundo 62. Smole has perfected her craft through previous experience at other media stations. She was born on May 13th, 1990 in Aires, Argentina. Smole later traveled to the United States to further her education as well as look for an employment opportunity. As of 2022, the 32-year-old has succeeded in her endeavors.

Belen realized her passion for journalism at a young age. Since then, she has been honing this skill. She started at Taller Imagen where she studied TV and Radio Hosting for close to one year. She later joined Argentine Catholic University for a degree in journalism.

After 4 years, she traveled to the United States at Columbia University to study master’s in journalism.
Career
As a student, she got an opportunity at El Derecho in the production department. Here she learned to create content, write scripts, and conduct interviews. After graduating, Belen got an opportunity at Walt Disney Company as Press and corporate communications assistant responsible for organizing events, coordinating interviews, and managing the company’s website.
After two years she joined Zoomin. TV. As a freelancer responsible for production realization, news coverage, recording presentations, and editing videos.
When she traveled to the United States, her first opportunity was at CNN where she served as Digital Media Intern for 3 months. After getting her master’s, she got an opportunity at Entravision Communications as a multimedia journalist tasked as an anchor and reporter.
She covered scenarios of crime in New Mexico, especially those related to Hispanics. The network recognized her as the best general assignment reporter, best public affairs series, and best consumer series.
Belen left the institution at 1.5 years to join Univision Communications Inc as a consumer investigative reporter doing general news and investigation. She got 6 Emmy awards for her exceptional work in the 3 years she worked there. Currently, she works at NBC as an anchor for Telemundo.
She has done popular stories like following former president Donal Trump who was charged with 34 criminal cases for falsifying commercial documents alleged to have paid two women to be silent about his extramarital affairs during the 2016 campaign. Belen has also done sad stories like the overdose crisis on Opioids in Philadelphia and the Bridge collapse in Baltimore.
