When the word Hip Hop is mentioned imaginations of indecency fill the mind because of what the majority of hip-hop artists have displayed. Emanuel Lee Lambert, Jr professionally known as Da’ T.R.U.T.H ( To Reach U Through Him) believes hip hop can be sanctified by the message of the cross. He identifies himself as a Christian rapper and an evangelist of God. He has shared the stage with big names in the gospel industry like Lecrae, Kirk Franklin, and Keran.
Da’ T.R.U.T.H Age and Wife
Emanuel was born on 15th December 1977 in Philadelphia. Lee comes from a Christian background where he learned the values of living according to Christian customs. These values have been a guiding factor in making decisions in his life.
He is married to Nicole Lambert and together they have two children. The marriage has been subject to controversy as Emanuel was found guilty of infidelity after he cheated on his wife with Shante Tribett, the wife of gospel singer Tyrone Tye Tribbet. Lambert confessed to his conduct. On June 15, 2010, he got reconciled to his wife on their eighth wedding anniversary.
Da’ T.R.U.T.H Career
Lambert has always been musical from a young age. At age 16, he started a rap group called Chosen One with his friends. He began polishing his skill and using it to share Christ with young people familiar with hip-hop.
Lambert never considered himself a professional rapper. His main work in the gospel ministry was playing the drum. As a drummer, he discovered he was good at freestyling and rapping.
After graduating from College he started recording hip-hop material on small scale. Eventually, his songs started gaining momentum and reaching different crowds. Soon he was getting invited to perform at big gospel events and was on the list of nominees for awards.
He released his debut album, Moment of Truth, The Faith in 2005 and followed it with Open Book. The two albums won Stellar awards. In the following years, he released projects such as The Big Picture, Love Hope War and It’s Complicated.
Some of his songs were featured on Top Ten Billboard’s Christain Charts. On his albums, he has had guest appearances of big acts such as Kirk Franklin, Lecrae, and Tedashi. Lambert has also partnered with Limoblaze for Bridges.
In 2023, he released the album, Emanuel. In the album, Da TRUTH retires his name and goes by his original name. He also features artists like Dante Bowe, Todd Dulaney, and Yolanda Adams.
Outside Music
Da Truth is an exceptional rapper. He displays the struggles and triumphs of a Christian in a world resisting the values of Christ. In his songs, he shares with his listeners how Jesus has been with him regardless of the challenges he has faced. His story has been featured on Portia Tv Show, rapzilla, and mm live radio.
