Daniel Gotera Biography

Daniel Gotera is an American sports reporter and journalist for KHOU TV. He is popular for his detailed coverage of events and his acute focus on sports. Gotera is also the husband of Rashi Vats, a famous reporter and anchor at Fox 36.

Daniel Gotera Wife

Daniel is married to Rashi Vats a reporter at Fox36 Houston. The two met in 2008 when Vats got her first job. She joined KXII where Daniel was employed for two years. Daniel was smitten immediately after he saw her on TV. Daniel later got promoted to the position of a sports reporter and Vatz took his position.

Fate had them working on one assignment where Daniel was a photographer and Vatz reporter. The two naturally fell in love and started dating. They officially became a couple on the 19th of October.  Their union was later blessed with two children Rian Lincoln, and daughter Liana Grace.

Rashi is also a Houston Native serving as a reporter for Fox 26. Rashi descends from India although she is the only child in her family born in the United States. Vats initially wanted to pursue medicine but later changed to journalism. She was born on January 5th, 1986. She also went to Texas Christian University where she pursued a degree in journalism.

Daniel Gotera Education and Career

Daniel was born on 28th March in Katy, Texas’ Cinco Ranch.  Gotera, 37 or 39, comes from a supportive family that saw him through education. He went to Northwestern University where he pursued journalism studies.

After graduation, Gotera started working at KXII in Sherman, Texas as a general assignment reporter and later in sports. He worked there for close to three years until he joined KHOU-11 as a sports reporter. His roles include reporting and anchoring sports events.

Daniel Gotera is a hard-working journalist who has been recognized for the Lone Star Emmy in the sports department. In 2009, he won the Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Electronic Journalism for covering the story The Sherman-Denison: Young and Old. He has been nominated for close to 7 categories in the EMMY Awards.

As a sports journalist, he has recently done a story on Framver Valdez and Yordan Alvarez. He has also covered welfare intiatives in the sports industtry like when John Metchie III vosted the NRG Hopital to thank the hospital for their support.
