Broadway had succeeded in turning her financial beliefs into reality. By the time she was completing college, she had bought her own condo. She even had a bigger plan when she realized a gap in the financial sector. At UBS, she realized that high-income earners had better opportunities for investment than middle-income earners. She saw this gap and planned to meet middle-income earners’ investment needs. In 2011 she created Finances Demystified. The goal of the company was to coach middle-income earners’ finances, teaching them about investments and savings.
Within two years, Broadway’s company had been broke and in debt. She failed at what she was teaching her student. Reaching her grandfather, Dominique realized that she was charging less for her services. Immediately, she took a step towards re-establishing her company with what she had learned. Within a few months, her business was back and she was able to claim her house and car. She also diversified her income and started an online class that now has more than 60 students. Dominique also grew her social media presence attracting big brands such as GM and Uber.
