She is the daughter of a Senegalese man, Latif, and an African-American woman, Raquelle. As an adult, Eliza Diop has been reflecting on her parent’s values. She got married to her current husband Ibrahima Mbaye in December 2022. With no finances and 4 kids depending on her, Eliza moved back to her mother’s home to strategize her next moves. In the midst of her troubles, she got an idea that would transform her life. In 2020, she received a $1200 stimulus check from the government and used it to buy a phone, develop a website, buy a domain name, and file for her LLC. She started Ellievated Agency, which at that time was called Eliza Revella Consulting Services. She used her years of experience in sales, marketing, and leadership to create an online course to educate and coach people on money principles and how to scale their small businesses.

For the first three months, she offered free services and later launched her first producer for $20 and coaching calls going for $47 an hour. Within the first year, year nearly 50,000 people had purchased her courses and she had made sales of $1.1 million. The success of her first venture made her realize a gap in her financial literacy and ways to expand her business.

She later re-invented the course by making it deeper in knowledge and more engaging. Her investment in her course paid off as more students enrolled in her class. Three years into the business, Eliza has been able to sell her course to more than 70k students and help others reach $1 million in one year.

Ellie Talks Money has also expanded from just an online course to a platform where women can share ideas about generating wealth and leaving a rich legacy. She created Elliavated Academy specifically for creating courses for her students and Mommy to Millionaire to educate mothers on ways to become wealthy. Diop has also used her digital marketing skills to increase influence and engagement on her Instagram page, which currently has 563k followers.
