Jackie Crea is a general assignment reporter and a fill-in anchor working at NBC San Diego. She is an exceptional journalist with more than 10 years of experience. She has previously worked for KHOU-TV, KTSM, and Creative Artist Agencies, which have all helped her to hone her skills. Crea has covered stories that have had widespread impact.

Becoming a journalist was never easy at the beginning. Jackie had to be courageous and zealous to prove her passion for journalism was authentic. In an Interview with SD Voyager, Jackie recalls interning at NBC San Diego. She told the voyager that she had to beg experienced journalists to teach her how to edit, shoot and create stories. After three months there, she got another internship opportunity at NBC Universal Media where she was a writer and a producer.

For the two months she was there Jackie learned to produce scripts and control live shows. She got her first job at Creative Artist Agency as a brand coverage assistant. Being an employee and an intern were different. As an employee, she had few to zero chances of making a mistake or saying no to whatever assignment was given. Jackie looks back and remembers how unsafe it was covering some stories. Regardless, she did well at Creative Artist Agencies as she learned to liaise with agency partners, agents and partners.

Her breakthrough came in 2011 when she joined KTSM-TV as a reporter and weekend anchor. At this level, work became getting easier as she had learned the ropes of journalism. She worked there for 2 and a half years before leaving for KHOU where she was a reporter and fill-in anchor for 3 years. Since then, Jackie has been a highly sought-after journalist who also worked in Denver 7 and finally at NBC Universal as an anchor and reporter.

As a journalist. she has covered historic events such as the Tropic Storm Bil, 2015 Memorial Day Floods, Super Bowl, Former President Obama’s visit to Fort Blishh, immigration and military stories, and others.
