Education and Career
Her passion for being on the screen started at a young age. She loved creating videos, going to talk shows, and taking photos. She translated her passion into blogging when she joined Florida International University for a degree in broadcast journalism. The idea of blogging was to prepare herself for the job she would get in the future.
The idea of the blog was to talk about her personal life and discuss matters of fashion, relationships, and culture. Her friends and relatives joined her and Brunette Confessions was born. The blog involved doing videos and questions asked by their followers.
The blog was almost an immediate hit as many of her friends threw her many questions. When Jennifer could no longer handle the demand, she quit working on it to focus on her career which she had advanced to master’s.
While in her final degree year, she got an opportunity to work as an intern at MundoMax Broadcast where she was tasked with writing scripts in Spanish, assisting reporters with daily segments and doing reports.
After graduating, she got an employment opportunity at Telemundo Studios as a Freelance translator. For nearly two years, she was tasked with transcribing news and translating from English to Spanish and vice versa.
While blogging, she met many people who introduced her into the media industry. These connections helped her to get job opportunities. Her first significant opportunity came in 2017 when she joined WSVN as an assignment editor.
Unlike blogging, and working as an editor was different. Her responsibilities were gathering news material, identifying sources of information, and doing interviews. She was also tasked with monitoring social media.
Radio and Salary
Jennifer worked in the station for close to two years before joining, WPBF News 25 still as an assignment editor. In 2020, she relocated to Georgia to work for WALB and WCTV as a reporter. For 2 years, she presented news reports on live tv, oversaw post-production, and developed content for multiple platforms.
In January 2022 she joined WINK News as a reporter. She worked there for only nine months before joining SiriuXm as a co-host. On the side, she co-founded a podcast Confess it, Baby with her friend Ili Menendez.
