Smith is a passionate storyteller working as a weather anchor for CTV Toronto. She is also a reporter and segment producer. Jessica Smith was born in Canada’s capital, Toronto in 1986 August, 28. She will be celebrating her 36th birthday in 2022. Smith comes from a supportive family who has held and supported her all the way.

Jessica knew from a young age that education would play a major role in her career. She went to Mayfield Secondary School for the Performing Arts where she did a diploma in Arts and majored in Drama.
Her experience in school gave her the confidence to perform in front of big crowds. After graduating from high school she joined Guelph Humber University where she did Media Studies and majored in Journalism. She graduated in 2008.
Jessica Smith Career
After graduating from college, she became the cheerleader, community ambassador, and social media manager for Toronto Argonauts Football Club for 9 seasons, leading the team in 6.
Jess’ journalism career started in June 2009 when she worked as a reporter and writer for Rogers TV. After two years, she left and joined Shaw communication as a Global Promo Scheduler where she produced news and scheduled national campaigns.
In 2013, she joined Beat The Traffic, a subsidiary of The Weather Network, as a presenter and desk operator who provided traffic updates. She joined the parent company as a weather specialist, a skill that got her hired at RaceCanada before joining CTV News.
She started at CTV News as a video journalist and Weather Anchor at CTV Regina where she created, edited and wrote weather stories. At Regina, she covered Alida Tornado and news on the Morning Live Team.
In 2019, Jess was recognized by Praire Dig Best as the Best TV Weather Person. Smith later joined CTV Kitchener as a Reporter and Weather Anchor, a position she held for 1 year and 6 months.
In December 2021, she joined CTV Toronto as a Segment producer and weather specialist.
