Houston was accused of breaking Hillsong’s Pastoral code of conduct as he was accused of sexual behavior and addiction to sleeping pills. The Pastor Later resigned from his position.
On his resignation, Pastor Sam wrote that he regretted leaving Hillsong but he had to leave because the scandals following the lead pastor of the mega-church challenged his leadership at Hillsong Atlanta. His resignation was welcomed as it was stated to be transparent. The Story Church held its first service on April 17 which was Easter Sunday.
