Susan Grace Biography

Susan Grace Kenya has made national headlines for her eloquence in storytelling and magical voice. She currently serves as a host for Crossover 101, a gospel show aired on NTV Kenya. Her Grass to Grace story broke the internet when she shared it on the Lynn Ngugi Show.

She opened up about the misconceptions of media stars appearing to have their life together and her story of depression, traumatic childhood, and triumph over all her pains.

Susan Grace Age, Childhood and Relationships

Susan Grace was born in 1994 and was raised in Kiambu, Nairobi Suburb. She spent most of her childhood life under the care of her grandmother after her biological mother left for the city and her father failed to take custody of her when she was born.

In interviews, Susan reveals that her childhood was traumatic as her grandmother was tough. She demanded Grace focus on her studies and taking care of the household. Many times Grace would face the wrath of her grandmother when she failed exams or found playing with her mates.

The experience with her grandmother had her question the reason her mother would leave her there despite complaining to her about the mistreatment.

One time when Susan’s mother had visited, she packed her clothes and locked herself in the car. This time, she was firm on her decision to leave her grandmother.

Susan Grace moved with her mother to Embakasi Avenue where her mother lived and the two began a new life. While living with her mother, Susan noticed her mother had a boyfriend. Susan who had desperately wanted a father figure in life got befriended by her mother’s boyfriend. Soon, the friendship between them turned sour when her mother’s boyfriend turned his sexual cravings towards the young girl when he learned of their wanting relationship.

He would sexually abuse her and touch her private parts when Susan’s mother had left for work. Many times Susan would complain to her mother about the abuse only to receive backlash from her mother who blamed her for spending too much time with him.

The traumatic childhood affected how Grace interacted with men, in her adulthood. All the men who knew her somehow used her. While on campus, she tried to date but her heart was broken when she found out that she was a side chick to a man who had a main girl. Up until now, Susan Grace has not revealed information on her relationship status. She has remained single but has the hopes of getting married to a man who loves God.

Susan Grace Education

Although she had a poor upbringing, Susan was a bubbly and energetic child. She started school at Gateway Primary and later to Light Academy for her high school studies. Her strict childhood made her a high performer and a lover of disciplines that appeared difficult to others.

For her college studies, she went to the United Kingdom to study mathematics and actuarial science at the University of Leicester. As a student, she quickly realized her passion was in media. Many people had told her that her voice was good for the TV.. When she returned to Kenya, Susan joined Daystar University to study Mass communication with a specialty in electronic media.

Susan Grace Career

While on Campus, she got an opportunity to serve as a radio presenter for Kubamba Radio. She served there for close to a year before getting another opportunity at Ebru TV as an onsite Television Host. After 4 months, Susan Grace was called at Kiss TV to serve as a host for a gospel Show.

The media opportunities she got exposed her to many people who desired to have her voice and face on TV. In 2022, her breakthrough came when she was called to serve as a TV present for a gospel show called Cross Over 101.

As a presenter at one of Kenya’s largest media outlets, she has had the opportunity to run with Kenya’s most popular journalists like Olive Burrows and Hellen Aura. She also upped her skills as she thinks of how far she can go when she leaves the show. She also made her debut as an NTV reporter in May 2023.

Susan Grace Triumph

Rising from the ashes of a poor childhood, abandonment, rejection, and sexual abuse came from a decision she made after a suicide mission went wrong. Susan had contemplated suicide many times because she felt no one loved or appreciated her. She had developed the habit of cutting herself to feel alive.

One time she thought of cutting herself on the wrist and dying. When she cut herself, she went to sleep thinking she would die but she woke up. Susan realized that God had given her a second chance in life.

That day, she committed to follow God. With prayer and support from friends, Susan Grace leaped her way out of depression and emptiness. She got a new way of living and open doors began coming her way.

She became a celebrated television personality and vowed to help young men and women combat mental health. Her story has been featured on Lynn Ngugi Show, NTV News Paper, Pulse, Radio Maisha, and The Star. She also has had the opportunity of meeting Kenyan celebrated people like Robert Burale, Grace Ekirapa, and Fidel Maithya. Her story tells of that child who thought all was lost but fate had another story she knew about.
