At 72, she looks like 40 and can easily tie her shoe,  and do an 8-minute plank. All this started to become a reality when she decided to be deliberate with her life. While many people admire the woman she has become, getting everything in context is important to appreciate the things that made her a public sensation. In this article, we dive into her past and present.

Chef Babette Davis Personal Life

Babette was born on 7th December 1950 in the boulevards of Washington. As a child, Babette was accustomed to lack because her family was poor and her mother raised the family with the little she could get. The neighborhood they grew up in made Babette, her big brother, and her small sister a victim of circumstances. Babette’s big brother found himself on the wrong side of the law and would spend time in the juvenile courts and prison. Most of Babette’s life involved surviving alongside her younger sister. At age 5, Babette was molested by a friend. It took her more than ten years to reveal this to her mother.

Although Babette survived getting caught on the wrong side of the law, toxic relationships got the best of her young adulthood. After completing school at Thomas Jefferson Highschool, Babette decided to start living instead of going to college. At 21, she got married to a drug dealer who was a heroin addict. The couple got a child but separated because the relationship turned out to be toxic. Babette confessed to Rich Pull in an interview that many times she found herself getting beat up by the man.

In her 30s, she got married to a cocaine addict and like him, she started smoking. Every bad behavior she displayed was a reflection of child trauma and the search for identity. While in her worst behavior, Babette had a spiritual reckoning that changed her forever. The awakening changed how she thought about life and everything about her.

She got a job in the airline and got serious with her life. Babette also started rebuilding her singing skills, which she had always been passionate about. She also became a hairdresser and started attending church.

Meeting her Husband

Her life took a new turn when she met her current husband Randall Davis, who is 2 years older than her, in a competition she was auditioning for. The two got along and started dating. From Randall, she learned about the vegan and fitness lifestyle.

She also read two editions of Fit for Life and Mucusless Diet Healing System and her life was changed for the better. Randall and the knowledge she got from the books changed how she thought about living a healthy life.

In her 40s, Babette began a health and wellness journey and started documenting it on Instagram. Together with her husband, they opened a restaurant, Stuff I Eat, in Inglewood, California selling vegan dishes. Choosing to share her journey made her a celebrity almost instantly.
