Bryce Newberry Biography
Bryce Newberry, 25 or 26, is an American journalist working as a reporter and fill-in anchor at KPRC 2. Although he is at the earlier stage of journalism, Newberry has demonstrated the potential of doing it big in the media business. In his short time, he has had experience at Arizona PBS and KVUE News and as an intern at CBS Evening News, KING 5 News, NCWLIFE Channel, and the TODAY Show.
Bryce Newberry’s Age, Family, and Husband
The 25/6-year-old is the son of Andy and Kerri Wendell. He is also a brother to Hannah Wendell. In an interview with KVUE, Bryce came out as gay, an identity he had to struggle with as a child but finally came out after accepting who he was. His parents, siblings, and colleagues accepted his identity with love and appreciation. He is married to Jared Staples an attorney of public affairs.
Bryce Newberry Education and Career
The passion for journalism landed on Bryce during summer camp after graduating from Wenatchee High School. He became passionate about journalism and watching the news, compelling his parent to restrict his time on television. However, the zeal was too much leading him to join Arizona State University, Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. At school, he served as the President of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association and a convocation speaker.
After deciding he would pursue journalism in his career, Bryce made use of every opportunity he had. While in high school, he was an Online reporter for Teen Kids News where he assisted the company to write and edit scripts. He later interned at Icicle Broadcasting Inc with KOHO radio. Bryce covered summer stories and topics of interest in the community.
When he joined college, he got an internship opportunity at NBC News the TODAY Show where he helped in producing west coast stories, learning the basics of content gathering, and other administrative tasks. In the process, he learned about products and network news shooting. He landed another opportunity at KING 5 Media group as a digital intern responsible for creating content for the network’s social media platform. He also served as an intern at 12 News and CBS News
In school, he was a reporter and anchor for Cronkite News. He pitched stories and provided breaking news coverage on all platforms. Bryce was also heavily involved in producing content for TV and social media. After graduating, Newberry got his first employment as a reporter and Multimedia Journalist for KVUE News.
This opportunity gave him the chance to prove his worth. For the three years, he was at the station, Bryce demonstrated talent and a hunger for success. He covered stories of national and state interest.
