She started working her way to become a journalist when she joined Florida International University where she did a degree in Broadcast Journalism. The station tasked Gayle with following up on news leads, developing story ideas, and writing web scripts.
After 5 months, she got another opportunity at Beasley Media Group where she worked as a promotions assistant for 1 year. Her duties were engaging with station listeners, promoting client brands, and sampling the client’s products.
Camille got her first journalism job when she joined WTVY as a reporter. She wrote articles for the website and created content for the station’s social media accounts. On weekday evenings she served as an executive producer. At times, she would serve as a fill-in anchor.
Later, she moved to Macon, Georgia area at WGXA where she was an anchor, producer, and multimedia journalist. She covered breaking news, wrote enterprise news stories, and did interviews with the audience on the ground. In 2020, she relocated to Greensboro to work as an anchor and reporter for WXLV ABC. In 2022, WPDE announced Camille as the new morning anchor.
Her work as a journalist has been involved in covering informative news, especially to the locals. Recently, she covered a report on the possibility of another coronavirus variant called orthus CH.1.1. She also did a story where credit report agencies announced the removal of medical debt that is less than $500.
