Carmen has been fascinated by television since she grew up. This passion was present when she was at Destrehan High School and at the University of Louisiana Monroe where she was pursuing a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
As a student, Blackwell was active as a reporter and anchor for HawKe-Tv and the campus newspaper The Hawkeye. In her senior year, she was honored as one of the Best Tv News Feature Reporters.
After graduating, Carmen got an opportunity to serve as an intern at KNOE-TV8 for 10 months before getting her first job at KALB-TV where she served for close to two years as an anchor and a health reporter. Her skills became noteworthy to big media stations that she found herself open to working for Fox Media.
In 2018, she joined Fox10 Phoenix as a weekday morning anchor and a reporter at KSAZ. She learned to serve a big audience, breaking news, doing live interviews, and understanding the needs of the audience in Arizona.
After three years, Mrs. Blackwell joined WKYC Studios as an anchor and reporter. Now more than 1 year serving there, Blackwell has covered crime, political, entertainment, and business news that have been impactful to the people in Cleveland.
