Her passion for seeing women thrive has seen her move from practicing medicine to being a full-time digital influencer, social entrepreneur, and speaker/moderator. Dr. Adanna Steinacker was born on 2nd March 1988 in Nigeria. She is one of 5 children born to Ikedi Ohakim and Barrister Chioma Ohakim, a prominent family in the politics and governance of Nigeria. Dr. Adanna’s father is a businessman and politician who served as the 4th governor of Imo State and her mother is a lawyer and a businesswoman.

Following in her parent’s footsteps, Adanna moved to the United Kingdom for further studies where she not only became a doctor but also met a German Native David Steinacker who became her husband. The two had a traditional wedding in Nigeria, a church wedding in Ireland, and a court wedding in Germany. Their wedding has been blessed with a daughter and two sons.

Education and Career

In an interview with We Are The City, Dr. Adanna Steinacker confessed to having come from a family driven by ambition. This ambition drove her to the UK where she enrolled at the University of East Anglia where she studied Biomedical Sciences. Adanna also furthered her studies by joining the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland to become a surgeon.

After close to 10 years of preparation, she decided to put her skills into practice by starting Medic Abroad, a medical international organization that matches the medical needs of Africans with medical resources in countries abroad. She served as a doctor for three years but had to quit after the Covid pandemic hit the world.

As vloggers, Adanna and her husband open up their bi-racial family to the world. They have had videos such as Adanna’s pregnancy journey, travel to Kenya, and Baby’s products.

With more than 300k subscribers and quitting her job as a doctor, Dr. Adanna Steinacker decided to use her free time doing what she loves most, empowering women. She began leveraging the power of her YouTube Channel and the connection she had to speak about issues affecting women. Her newfound passion had her becoming a member of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and a leader in the Leading Change Network.

Her influence on Instagram has also moved from sharing her personal life as a vlogger to addressing matters concerning her concern for women’s empowerment. She started a podcast called What Women Want to Know. Through the podcast, she creates engaging content, and stories, and starts conversations with other women on topics such as health well-being, and lifestyle.

The core mission of the platform is to help realize Good health Well-being and Gender Equality. She also founded HealthVerse 360, a health agency specifically for communicating and scaling the positive impacts of health and wellbeing.
