Elyse Murphy Biography

Everyone thinks the Christian doctrine is about living according to specific principles and obeying laws written in the Bible. It is only when they become adults that most Christians realize that Christianity is about bringing the Kingdom of God on earth. And more, Christianity is about the posture of the heart. This was the story of Elyse Murphy. Many people now know her as a gospel teacher, author, speaker, and writer. Her life was not always as full of glamour as it looks now.

Age and Family

She was born on 27th July 1987 in Shire, Australia. Like most Christians, she was brought up in a Christian home. Her father, Michael Murphy, and mother Valerie were famous pastors in Australia. Being born in a Christian home, she desired to follow in her parent’s steps.

Her ministry work started after she graduated from Hillsong Leadership College. Her zeal to bring people to God led her to write her first book, Confessions of a Church Kid. Things begin changing in her life when she got the burden to move to LA. While in LA, she got a job and worked in ministry at a local Church.

Divorce and Testimony

At age 25 and zealous in doing ministry, Murphy met a man who interned at her church for lead worship opportunity. Immediately, she was smitten. Her desire to be chosen led her to a friendship and later marriage. On the day of the wedding, she began doubting her reason for getting married.

Like most people, she quickly shrugged off the feeling. But it got worse in the marriage. While living with her husband, Elyse realized she got married for the wrong reason. Instead of selling her soul for a wrong marriage, she chose divorce. In January 2017, she got divorced.

Her heartbreaking experience became a beacon of hope in her life. After going through the healing process, she came back strong, better, and more passionate about revealing Jesus. Her story displayed the mercy of God and preached about the God of another chance.

Now, Elyse is up and about speaking and preaching at conferences and events. Her story has been featured on Modern Witness, Heart of Dating, and IT Factor by Emily Ford. She is also a podcaster running the show On A Lighter Note where she has interviewed Marshawn Evans Daniels, Toni Collier, and Christine Caine.
