Katie Griffins is a common figure on the news screen but her professional hats are many. As a journalist, she is experienced in writing, editing, pitching, and creating digital content for both radio and Television. Griffins is also a tutor and a specialist in American Sign Language. Unlike most journalists, Katie has worked for CTV News Ottawa only.
Katie Griffins Age and Relationship
She was on 30th March 1988/89 in Pickering Ontario. Since a young age, Katie has always been fascinated with knowing things happening in society. On matters concerning relationships, we can say that Katie is single. Her reporting and anchoring roles remain to be primary in her priorities.
Education and Career
Her curiosity about current affairs led her to pursue Journalism as a major and Law as a minor at Carleton University. She also learns to use American Sign Language. As a student, Griffins got internship opportunities at Global Toronto and an overseas opportunity at CBS in London.
After graduating she joined the CTV News team as a reporter. She roamed the streets of Ottawa speaking with locals and creating stories out of what she gathered. In 2013, Griffins got an opportunity to be an associate producer for a show called Power Play.
After 4 years of reporting she got promoted to Weekend News Anchor, a position she occupied for 5 years until she became a multi-skilled journalist. She started producing content for radio, TV, and digital platforms. Katie became a professional at writing, pitching stories, and creating video content for the station’s social media.
Alongside her roles as a journalist, she worked as a tutor on a contract basis at Carleton University of Journalism and Communications. She also joined Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology as an instructor.
As a journalist, she has been involved in covering interesting news such as the new clown at Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. She also did the aftermath of the story of the explosion that leveled 4 homes.
