When people think about serving God, preaching, teaching the Bible, or doing something in the church is the first thing that pops up in their minds. Jake Weidmann was one we found to be interesting. His way of worshipping God is through handwriting and penwork. Jake Weidmann Age, Family and Wife
Jake Weidmann was born on 15th August 1984. He grew up in a strictly Christian home. His father was instrumental in shaping Jake’s skills as a young artist. He prayed and prophesied to Jake the blessing of Bezalel who in the Bible was filled with the Holy Spirit and gifted by God the ability to make artistic designs.
As an adult, Jake is living his father’s prayers and prophecies. Jake is married to Hannah, a writer, and a cosmetic designer. They got married on 5th April 2004. The couple is blessed with three amazing children. His older brother, Josh Weidmann, is also living on the family’s steps. He is a preacher and pastor at Grace Chapel.
Journey to Becoming Master Penmann
The journey of becoming a master artist started in 6th Grade when a teacher noticed his detailed artistic skills. At that age, Jake won his first art competition without officially entering. Getting recognized in the school birthed the desire to become an expert.
Although Jake desired to become an artist, he enrolled in a psychology course at Biola University. He wanted to pursue a minor in arts but the application letter was rejected. The rejection turned out to be a blessing to him as the psychology course helped him to understand his mind and work out his salvation. It made him realize that art was his way of worshipping God.
Becoming a master of arts was purely from his desire to please God. His passion for art later translated into a way of making money when he was in college. Jake created many artworks and did several woodworks that made his name famous. Now, he is the artist behind the Old Rugged Cross at Cedarville University and many other artworks found in his blog.
In 2011, the International Association of Mater Penmen, Engrossers, and Teachers of Handwriting named Jake a master Penman, making him the youngest of the 14 Penmen to hold the title in the world.
Jake has been invited to speak at TEDx and has had an interview with Crossway. He has also worked with Apple and Pixar Studios. Together with his wife, Jake runs an artwork shop called Everyday Heirloom.
