Education and Career
Jamal always wanted to work in a place where he would be on the screen and journalism offered a great opportunity. He joined Georgia State University where he studied communication and journalism. At school, he served in Georgia State University Television.
He also got an internship opportunity at WGCL in editorial operations where he was tasked with writing web broadcast packages and publicizing stories on the website’s social platforms.
As an intern, he covered the trial of Burrel Ellis and President Barack Obama’s campaign to raise awareness of sexual assault in college. Jamal also interned at CNN and worked as a teleprompter controller and producer. Goss covered a story on mission Florida teenagers and the case of Baby Doe.
After his graduation, Jamal got a job at WACH Fox as a reporter and anchor. He was tasked with creating engaging content on social media, interviewing officials, and gathering on-air assignments.
Jamal worked there for 2 years before joining Fox 46 in Charlotte. Goss was a weekend reporter doing live and on-set interviews and developing close contact with the community to generate inspiring story ideas. He was also tasked with creating content for social media engagement.
At the end of 2021, he announced his arrival at WIS TV 10 as a morning co-anchor for Sunrise. He is co-anchor with Hannah Cumler and Adam Clark who served as the Meteorologist. He has done a story on the death of Officer Barr, the west Columbia fire, and the North Carolina mother who was alleged to killing her 4-year-old daughter.
