Jessica Larche Biography

Jessica Larche is a career of hope. She serves as an Emmy-award-winning morning anchor and investigative reporter at WTKR. Jessica has excelled at her work after serving as a journalist for more than 10 years. Larche is more than the beautiful woman they see on the screen. A lot of sacrifices, patience, and endurance led to the culmination of her appearance. Before she was overweight and obese and her high blood pressure was increasing. Jessica is a southern born on 24th December 1984 in New Orleans. She comes from a Christian background where she learned from her parents the importance of family and living in gratitude. She is also a married woman. On 7th June 2016, she got married to her best friend, Sean M Washington, who works at BB&T. Larche considers her husband as one of the greatest pillars in her life as he stuck with her throughout her journey.

Education and Career

Like many Americans, Jessica was living a normal life. Education was a priority to her as she wanted to become a journalist. This dream led her to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University where she pursued Broadcast Journalism. Before she graduated, Jessica interned at WCTV for less than a year.

In 2008, She got her dream job as a general and investigative reporter at FOX 40 WDBD. There, she learned to shoot, do on-field reporting, and write and edit newscasts. Jessica also learned to liaise with community members to learn about events happening in the community. She served at the stations for two years.

In 2010, her biggest career breakthrough came when she joined WTKR News 3 as an investigative and special projects reporter. Jessica was involved with community stories that had led to changes in some policies. She has done investigative coverage of the missing fire hydrants, the shooting of little Sanna Hill, Criminal Physicians, and abductions at Hampton Roads. After 4 years, she was promoted to, Morning News anchor, a position she holds to date.

Weight Loss Journey

In her career journey, Jessica has covered many inspiring stories. The best she has ever covered was her own. Although she had achieved her childhood dream job, it was far beyond her wildest dream. On the surface, she looked okay, but deep down, Jessica wanted to lose weight, which bruised her self-esteem for years. She was in the same boat as her father who died in 2011 of obesity, hypertension, and diabetes.

In 2012, Jessica weighed a little more than 260 pounds. The weight was too much for her and she knew it but could not do anything about it. The decision to start her weight loss journey, came when her doctor told her her blood pressure was rising. The information scared her as it was a sign of following in her father’s trail. Larche has a moment with Jesus, made an agreement, and decided to lose her weight for good.

The journey started one step at a time. She started by walking as doing weights was painful and changing her eating lifestyle. Walking later translated to little exercise here and there. One day, she stepped on the weighing machine and it read 176 pounds. The feeling was overwhelming as it seemed unreal. It gave her the motivation to do more.

With the new weight, Jessica could now go to the gym. Fast forward, to 2016, she had lost more than 100 pounds. The success was enormous that it attracted the attention of many people. That year, she was featured in Woman’s Magazine cover page heart-health issue. Her story was also featured in Daily Press, and Health Journal.

She also started a blog that documented her life and the decisions she made and is making to maintain her health status. Jessica also started to Decide to Live Podcast where she talks about healthy living, wellness, and physical exercise, specifically targeting women.

Successfully achieving the dreams of many has made Jessica a highly sought-after speaker. She has spoken at conferences and health organizations. Her message is encouraging people to live a healthy lifestyle. When she is not on her official duties, Jessica is spending time with her husband and friends.
