John-Paul Gentile Biography

Drummers might be behind the scenes in major live hits but their contributions to making the music big are immense. Their ability to create beats for music makes live events emotional and alive. John-Paul Gentile is a professional drummer playing for Bethel Worship and Jesus Culture. Gentile is the drummer behind some of the Bethel Worship popular songs.

John-Paul Gentile’s age and Wife

He was born on 23rd August 1988. The 34-year-old currently lives with his wife and two children. He is married to Michaela Gentile, 35, who is a music writer in Bethel Music.

The passion for music was alive in John since childhood. Paul grew up listening to popular bands such as the Beetles and Coldplay.  He started off as a worship leader and guitarist but failed during the audition. He, however, passed when he tried drumming. John decided to join Bethel when he heard a Jesus Culture Album that had the song How He Loves on It. The song hit John’s emotions and spirit to a level he could not explain. John played the song over and over and trained himself to play it using his guitar.

John-Paul Gentile Career

Singing the song and playing it on his guitar revealed to him his hidden talent. Right there online, he found a school of worship at Bethel. He applied for the school and was enrolled. John started with a 3-week program, where he was taught about worship and the principles of Christianity.

Learning more about Christianity and his purpose in life encouraged him to apply to the school of ministry for 2 years where he learned about speaking in tongues, the history of revival, healing, and deeper details about Christianity. When he was in his third year, he started playing drums together with Jeremy Riddle 6 years ago. He later played Guitar with Bethel Music on William Mathew’s first record. John has now been drumming and playing guitar since then.

His major influences in music are Chris Quilala and, David Whitworth. Paul believes drummers are the next worship leaders because they can propel or distract because they are the one who carries the beat. Other Bethel Music songwriters we have covered are Paul McClure, Hannah McClure, Dante Bowe, David Funk, and others
