Jourdan Guyton was born on 16th July 1988 in the Islands of Hawaii. She is the first-born daughter born to Kelly Alexis, who passed on in 2021 a month before her wedding. Guyton is married to her best friend and lover Kavan Brandon. The two have been married for 2 years but are yet to have a child.

From her childhood, Jourdan Guyton had a knack for acting. She purposed to serve the world with her gift by learning more skills when she joined the University of Oklahoma for mass communication and media studies.

Career in Media

After graduating, she got employment with NBC Universal in The Maury Show and The Trish Goddard Show in the department of production. Season one of the show was streamed on YouTube but later they sold the show to BET Digital for season two and other sequels.

Building Vera Jean Media LLC

Before she could move on to her next venture, COVID-19 struck the world and the entertainment industry was badly hit. Jourdan Guyton could not get gigs and soon she was fighting unemployment. Amid her struggle and thinking of a way forward, she put her job experience into practice by creating graphics for restaurants and businesses that need oomph in their social media profiles.

What she had created as a business for Survival turned into an online business for teaching female entrepreneurs how to strategize their content skills and social media marketing techniques. She named the business after her grandmother, Vera Jean, because of her enthusiastic personality.

Jourdan puts what she teaches into practice. Her strategies have gained her close to 90k followers on Instagram and a high engagement rate. She has a website with close to 80k organic growth and more than 1000 students purchasing her courses annually. Mrs. Brandon also started the Unapologetically Building Podcast, which  dives into raw personal growth, business building, and faith-infused strategies for career success.

In the podcast, she has covered topics like Planning Monthly Content, Grief and Growing a Business, and the benefits of Reels and IG Live. Her success on Instagram has had her story featured on Shoutout LA, Afro Tech, Business Insider, and Google.

Besides having risen amid the pandemic, Jourdan Guyton has added herself to the number of people displaying the power of social media in changing lives through a common strategy, which creating valuable content, and at the same time making money. Mrs. Brandon created her business with the desire to survive but in three years she has built a strategy that has continuously made her 6 figures yearly.
