The affair with sports started with her grandfather, Ron Burton, who was a football player for Boston Patriots. Her father Steve played for Northwestern and currently serves as a sports reporter in Boston.
Kayla’s mother, Ginni, was also a professional swimmer for the Wild. She has a brother called Austin who played at Purdue, Her sister Kendall played college basketball while her younger sister Veronica Burton is a professional basketball player for Dallas Wings. Moving on to relationships, we can say that Kayla has her entire focus on excelling at what her family started. As of 2023, she is single but looks ripe for marriage.

Career and Education
Sports and athletics were always in her family. It was obvious to her that serving in sports would be her career plan. Burton went to Lehigh University where she did a bachelor’s degree in journalism. As expected, she was highly involved in sports as a member of the Lehigh Women’s basketball team, playing as a point guard.
After graduation, she joined The Rivers School as the Head Basketball coach for the elementary girl’s basketball team and as a substitute teacher. On the side, she served as a sports reporter for the Celtics Late Night Show where she interviewed Celtics players and coaches and wrote pre and post-game write-ups.
After 1 year, Burton joined ACC Network as a sports reporter who did sports coverages and interviewed players and coaches for ESPN. Burton was later promoted to basketball analyst where she was tasked with covering women’s basketball games and discussing game players.
Scoring well as an analyst earned her an invitation to FOX6 and WGGB where she worked for 3 years before joining NFL Network in 2021 as an anchor and a full-time NFL Network reporter.
All through her time as a sports reporter, Kayla has been at the forefront of covering some exciting games and sports news. She has covered the suspension of Deshaun Watson for violating the personal conduct policy, the injury WR Drake and the 50th-anniversary of Title IX. She has had live interviews with athletes like WR Allen Robinson, RB Tony Pollard, LB Roquan Smith, and Rasul Douglas.
