0 Pastor Greg Ford Biography
In an interview with Adam Ward in Columbus Podcast, Greg Ford stated that it is common for pastors’ Kids to become worse like drug dealers or the best people in society. Knowing this Ford chose the latter. He grew up observing his parents running a church and now he is walking in his father’s shoes. Greg is the founding and lead pastor at One Church, Ohio. Starting the church stemmed from observing his father and the desire to serve people. One church has now grown from 100 people to more than 2,000 people
Pastor Greg Ford Age, Family, and Wife
He was born in 1981. The 43-year-old is the son of Reverend Mark D. Ford who served as the executive director of The Love Akron Network and is currently the Pastor of Care at One Church Columbus. Greg has followed in his father’s footsteps. He is married to his college sweetheart Shaylyn Ford, who is a co-pastor and a model who won Mrs. America 2021. The couple married in March 2004. Their union has been blessed with three children Ella, Hudson, and Miles.
Pastor Greg Ford Education and Calling
Although Greg grew up in a church, he was never fascinated by the idea of running a church. He viewed it as an institution started by people who did not have an alternative job. As he grew up, he started approaching church from a business mindset.
Greg’s thoughts about church, changed when he worked in a gym. He felt a calling to serve people where he was working. The calling started when he was at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy and later at Mount Union College where he was a football, basketball, and baseball player.
In his sophomore, he transferred school to Southwestern Assemblies of God Univeristy in Texas when the calling to ministry became great. He did biblical studies as he prepared himself for ministry.
Greg started as a youth pastor at Calvary Assembly of God and later at Evangel Assembly of God. He also worked as a football and basketball coach for middle school students.
In 2010, Greg and his wife moved to Columbus, Ohio after getting a vision of starting a Christ-centered movement and multiplying church. They started hosting meetings in their house and soon a team was built.
In January 2011, Greg did his first official service at One Church. After 5 years in service, One Church bought their first property in Gahanna. Now, close to 15 years of pastoring the church, One church has grown to a congregation of 2000 people and different church campuses.
Greg attributes the growth of his church to a genuine desire to reach people, serve them, and preach Jesus to them. The willingness of the church is to see the lives of people transformed and ushering them to the presence of the Holy Spirit.

His desire to encourage people to fight their fights was seen when he stepped into the boxing ring to fight professional boxer Brian Brown in 2014. Pastor Greg Ford, who has a background in athletics and physical exercise, stated that the fight was to encourage people to persevere in their emotional, relational, or spiritual struggles.
Pastor Greg Ford is just beginning to gain track on social media. He has a team that posts short videos and reels on Instagram. As of now, he has close to 32k followers and a high engagement rate. His audience cuts across all ages because his message is for all.
When he is not working, Greg spends time with his family, on the beach or in the gym. His decision to walk according to his father’s steps can also be seen with Pastor YPJ and Cody Crouch.
