Career
After graduation, she got an opportunity to work with WLCU as a morning live shot reporter where she covered community events and coordinated all live shots. Rivera later became a 10 pm anchor and a fill-in anchor and producer for the 5 and 6 pm show.
Later she moved to Rockford to work as a sports anchor and reporter hosting Bear Blitz Show, co-hosting The Sports Connections, and traveling for press conferences. Samantha covered high school sports, Rockford IceHogs, and Chicago Bears. In 2021, she made a big move to FOX 5 San Diego to work as a reporter and MMJ. She did reports on local sports, and covered high school, college, and national sports.
In 2022, she moved to NBC5 as a bilingual sports reporter and anchor. She tells sports coverages in English and Spanish. While doing live coverage of the Stanley Cup Finals, Samantha was approached by a fan who wanted to force himself on the screen.
Samantha firmly held her hand on the man, blocking him from the 5 seconds of fame he wanted. The coverage went viral across the internet, with many people commending her for courageously standing her ground and focusing on serving the audience.

Since the incident, she has become a famous journalist. When Samantha is not working, she is spending time with her friends and family back at home. She also contributes to the Hispanic community by playing her role in the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
