Des was not always wealthy. The glamour came after years of struggle. She was born in 1999 in a poor background in the nitty gritty parts of Detroit. Her family did not have access to resources. Sidity’s father died when she was 7 years old.

Despite the disadvantage she had had in life, Sidity has never chosen to become a victim of circumstance. She turned her pain into freedom. Des has also had her share of pain in relationship matters. While in college she got herself into a relationship, and got a child but parted ways with her boyfriend after the relationship turned out to be toxic.

Making it through life was never easy. Sidity had to go through odd jobs to sustain herself as a student back in college. She started Sidity City and worked on the side as a waitress to sustain the business. Des also asked for investors to invest in her business for she had seen its success. The unfortunate happened, Sidity was fired from her job. Investors also rejected her offer.

Disappointed, Sidity decided to go on her own. Every failure was a lesson that propelled her to the next level. She started marketing her business on Instagram without making any inventory. She succeeded in creating demand, which later translated to sales favoring her business.

Sidity Des Beyond the Chair

In 2020, she was broke begging investors to consider her. By the end of 2021, she has made her first million dollars, attracting the same investors who had rejected her. Seeing the success she had, Des started the Beyond the Chair podcast with Trishona Helm, a serial entrepreneur in the hair business.

The content of the podcast aimed at educating people on the strategies to succeed in business. It got positive feedback immediately after the first show. Now, in the podcast, they talk about a variety of topics that affect women. They also offer marketing classes to educate business people on the secrets of marketing.

The podcast has also featured successful people such as Rick Ross and Funny MarcoTheir story has been featured on Grind Pretty Magazine, The Source, Sheen, and PopOut.
