Although her behavior got her expelled and suspended from 3 different high schools, she had a determination to have her degree and perhaps a good job. In 1996 she graduated from high school and the following year, she joined John Jay College for studies in legal studies and a minor in writing.
She later got a job as an Asset Loan Officer at Dime Savings Bank after struggling g through school for 10 years. In 2010, she began a solo journey after being laid off from her job. Sunshine started as a co-owner at Je T’aime Shoes, a celebrity shore store, while building her consulting firm Sunny Legal Realty Group. This company specializes in training people in financial literacy.
Life in Prison and Books
While doing business, Sunshine had a fall down that almost ruined her whole life. She reconnected with her childhood friend, Aric Branch, with whom they went into business with. In 2013, the two were found in a conspiracy that landed them in jail for 2 years. After an investigation by the United States Secret Service and the Dickson City Police Department, Branch, and Smith were found guilty of dealing with counterfeit notes.
