When most of us think of a farm yard, we think of alot of work that involves tilling the land, attending to animals, and carrying heavy stacks of harvest. That was not the case when Amanda Nigg married in farming family. Farm work involves a lot of hours in tractors, harvesters, and behind the desk taking account of farm activities. To say the least, not a lot of calories are burnt in farm work.
When her house got on fire and everything was burnt into ashes, she turned her farm into a gym to deal with her depression and heartbreak. Little did she know that the farm gym she had created would turn out to be the sport that would bounce her back to life. She is a fitness expert popularly known as Farm Fit Momma.

She is a 35 or 36-year-old South Dakota native. Amanda Niggs is married to a man called Barefootnfarmer who is a 5th generation farmer in the family. The two studied at the same University got hooked up and their journey to marriage started. They are currently blessed with 2 boys.
Jumping into Fitness
Before Amanda Nigg worked full-time on the farm, she had the dream of working in corporate America. She studied Radiation Therapy but later moved to selling farm insurance when she married.
The decision to become a fitness specialist was not intentional. When COVID-19 hit the world, Nigg and her family got double tragedy. Their house got burned to the ground one day before lockdown was announced in the country. She could no longer sell farm insurance to help her husband in building back their house.
Amid heartbreak and disappointment, her husband came up with the idea of using the farm as a gym. And just like that, the idea was interesting to her and she started doing workouts on the farm and sharing it on Instagram. Soon, thousands of people started watching her, some asking her for personal trials.
When the traffic got wild on her account, she went back to school to get a certificate in fitness training. Her online fitness program took off with more than 20 clients asking for her services every 2 weeks. She has now been able to establish herself on Instagram as a fitness expert and more people are approaching.
Influence
Amanda Nigg also collaborated with John Deere Green to make a workout-friendly product called The Warbell for her. Alongside teaching cheap workout techniques, Amanda also advises her clients on the best meals to eat for weight loss and staying healthy. She tries as much to keep her exercise free from gym equipment. The Farm Fitt Momma uses heavy sacks, hay, and farming tools as some of her gym equipment. She also has a few dumbells for workouts because they are easy to use even in the fan. She also uses the expanse of farmland for running.
But far from making the farm a gym, Amanda Nigg is also redefining the farming business. She is removing the thought of farming being a business for old people and introducing young people doing farming large scale and earning millions from it. Her passion for fitness, however, has a unique perspective as that of Saman Munir, who does exercise while still putting off her Hijab.
