Orosco is a mixed race born on 30th December 1980. His father is a Trinidad immigrant who worked in the blue-collar industry while his mother, Heather, worked in the medical Industry. Orsco understands the typical life of an American immigrant because he grew up in a middle-income family. He is also a family man. On 19th June 2019, he got married to Jeanine Orosco after dating for 14 years. The couple is blessed with two children Payton and Minismash Orosco.
Career and Education
Although he displayed ambition as an athlete, the trait was clear from high school. Steve did his high school studies in Newport, Rhode Island. His childhood dream of becoming a financial guru led him to pursue two degrees, Marketing and Finance at Pace University and two Master’s Degrees, Science Management, and Business, Administration at Albertus Magnus College.
His first job was as a financial expert at a start-up firm Charles Shwab, in Shelton. Initially, he thought money would satisfy him but he was more unsatisfied as he got more. His satisfaction came after training as an MMA after work. After graduating with his double master’s, he quit finance and focused on becoming an MMA athlete.
He moved to San Diego, where his best friend lived. He joined a gym that hosted amateur fighting competitions. Winning fights as an amateur encouraged him to become a professional fighter, which he did after his application got through. He fought 9 fights, won 8, and lost his last fight. At 32, he had chances of fighting on to become the next MMA superstar but seeing the chances of becoming one were slim, he retired from fighting
He stopped fighting professionally and started SMASH Global, a company that aimed at improving MMA through organizing high-quality entertainment built of class and giving the audience the thrill a fighter gets when they fight another human being.
Through his business, Steve has been able to organize more than 10 big events that feature international stars. His events have been graced by the likes of Cole Hauser, Adam Weitsman, Shad Gaspard, and veterans such as Dolph Lundgren and Mel Gibson. In addition to his business, he started a gym in Milford called Smash HQ.
Seeing the success and impact of his events on the community, he decided to join politics. In May 2022, Steve announced he would run for the 11th State Senate District Seat on a republican ticket. In his manifesto, he stated he would help to restore family values in the state, security, curb unemployment, and violence, and improve education quality.
He also criticized the Incumbent Martin Looney for serving for a long time and delivering few results. Although he promised to work diligently, Steve never convinced many people. During the elections, the republican got 23.5 percent of the vote.
